About the event
Calling all Nevada Educators!
Discover how to integrate news and media literacy into STEM instruction using the News Literacy Project’s free educator resources, including the Checkology® virtual classroom. This session will highlight practical strategies to help students think independently, verify information and assess the credibility of sources and data-based claims in today’s information-rich world. Explore how algorithms and generative AI shape the information we see — and the importance of preparing students to navigate these technologies with discernment.
About Us
Founded in 2008, the News Literacy Project (NLP) is a nonpartisan education nonprofit that works with educators, school districts and states to ensure students receive news literacy instruction before they graduate from high school. Students gain the knowledge and ability to think critically for themselves and become well-informed members of civic society.
